 REFLECTIONS

I have become interested in the way everything reflects one another. I have worked on this subject for the past year. Nature reflects us and we reflect nature. How images reflect each other and the effects of this. I find a certain mystery and dubbelness in how an image can represent one thing turned upright for instance, whilst the same image can give a completly different message turned round the other way. I am showing this in my two larger pictures `Amulet´ and `Reflection´

In `Amulet´ the picture reveals an upright shape, a stone like godess, a feeling of ancient culture, an amulet, a shaman.

In `Reflection´ the same picture is presented on its side and becomes a landscape, stones and rocks reflecting in water, resting, at peace.

One is exposed to a dilemma here, a confusion, but also to an openness in how we see and understand the picture and its world.

I often work from photographs, which I then manipulate i a digital way and print as a traditional etching or litho print. I also combine my work with text, words and messages. I like the way words influences and effects us in our daily life. The reflection of how we react to the word.
Is everything a reflection of something else
